Tweed Heads is located on the beautiful Far North Coast of NSW and is situated just near the Queensland/NSW border.

Our Centre is air conditioned to accommodate the beautiful hot beach weather and is equipped for children from 6 weeks of age to 6 years.

The Centre is licensed for 79 children and each room provides a warm, friendly, caring and safe environment where each child is provided with the opportunities and experiences within a fun and engaging Life Smart Curriculum developed to foster and promote children's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.

Children in the Preschool and Kindy rooms are introduced to computers and technology as well as the Letter Land program that assists children with their transition to Kindergarten.  We support the cultural aspect of the local Community and the 'Minjungbal' people by inviting visitors to the Centre to help educate the children through music, dance, cooking, culture, art and family structures.

Extra curricular activities and support are offered at the Centre such as Tennis, a hairdresser who visits once a month and working in collaboration with Tweed Community Health in a trial project to ensure that all children are supported.  We are also trialling the 'Therapy's on the Floor' project at our Centre through the NSW Department of Health.

Our families enjoy participating and sharing special times of celebration with us including Parent/Grandparent Days, Special Friends Day, Christmas Party and our upcoming Preschool Graduation Night.  However we are sensitive to individual children's and families religious beliefs at all times.

Our professional teachers and educators at Goodstart Early Learning Tweed Heads are passionate and committed to ensuring that each child and their family participate in a positive partnership providing a learning environment that will endeavour to develop children who will be functional members of our society in the future.
JULIE-ANN BAILLIE
Centre Director
My name is Julie-Ann Baillie.  I have been working with the children, families and staff here at GoodStart Child Care Limited/ABC Tweed Heads for the 7 years with the past 5 years as the Centre Director.

I have a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to Five Years), Diploma of Business (Frontline Business Management), Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE).

I am very passionate about working with young children in their very important and crucial stage of development.  Working in partnership with their families to establish and foster positive learning partnerships to help ensure each individual child has the best possible start in a life time of enrichment learning.

Here at ABC Tweed Heads we provide a safe, secure, well maintained, caring and nurturing environment where each individual child has the opportunity to learn, develop and grow within caring relationships with each staff member.

Our Centre is inclusive and reflects the value and respect for the diversity of all children and their families cultural beliefs within our Community.

Play based learning is promoted and each individual child is provided with the opportunities and experiences in which they are able to express their ideas, imagination and creativity as well as engage in active exploration and discovery.

We recognise that children's learning takes place within the context of the individual family and the Community so therefore promote and foster partnerships with families' and the Community Services to ensure all families and children are supported equally.

Our Centre operates on the principles of Accountability and Best Practice, working in collaboration with children, families and the Community to help plan, develop, implement and continually strive to improve and provide a high quality Curriculum under the NCAC.
