Goodstart early learning Quakers Hill is a purpose built centre with three rooms. Our centre is ten years old. We have two great outdoor areas. We have a very small staff turn around with staff working at our centre between two and ten Years. All the staff have a great rapport with each other and it is often commented that we are ‘like a family’.

We operate between 7:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday 52 weeks of the year, only closing for Public Holidays. We provide meals and we are very lucky to have a fantastic cook who prepares all of our wonderful dishes from scratch and who cooks with such love and passion that it is clear for all to see and taste. We also provide nappies for the children and assist with toilet training when both child and parents are ready to take that step.

When children start at our centre they receive a free gift consisting of a bright enviro bag, Bucket sun hat, bag label and a sheet of book labels.

We have a very comprehensive School readiness program in place in our Pre School room which is implemented by one of our Early Childhood teachers. We also have the LetterLand program which we use to teach the children the letters of the alphabet. Along with the LetterLand program we have two computers in the Pre School room which the children have access to daily. The computers have the LetterLand and BroadLearn program which supports the LetterLand system of learning phonics which are full of fun and education activities that further develop number, alphabet, colour and shape recognition, rhyming words, fine motor skills and hand eye coordination to name a few.

Each room has an individualised program which is done on a weekly bases providing activities/learning centres that cater to each child's needs, strengths, likes. All rooms also have music and movement group times and language and literacy group times and the two older rooms have small groups  where the children are divided by age and developmental level so they can have access to more individualised learning.

At the end of each year every child receives a Special Achievements Journal which we are all very proud of,the journals contain a collection of hand prints, foot prints, art works and Photos from through out the year. Each journal is made with a lot of love, pride, care, time and effort.

Throughout the year we have a lot of visits to the centre from people in the local community such as a local dentist talking to the children about dental hygiene, the Schofields Fire Department talking about Fire Safety, The Police talking about stranger danger and a local swim centre talking to the children about swim safety. As well as having fun days at the centre such as Easter Hat Parades, Mothers day and Fathers Day Afternoon teas, dress up days, Teddy Bear Picnics, crazy hair days and lots more.

We passed the Australian food safety assessment and are registered with the NSW Food Authority. This year we again passed Accreditation with High quality.
Rachel Buhagiar
Centre Director
My name is Rachel Buhagiar. I have over eleven years experience in the child care profession. I have a Diploma in Community Services Children Services and I am currently studying to obtain my Bachelor of Education Early Childhood (0-12 years). During my time in this sector I have worked with all age groups (0-6 years), starting off as a trainee then becoming a room leader and then Centre Director. I also spent three years being an Area Manager and Quality Assurance officer for Goodstart Early Learning, which was a fantastic opportunity to grow and become a better Centre Director. I have been at Goodstart Early Learning Quakers Hill North for over five years.

I believe that I am friendly and approachable and my door is always open to staff and families. Families know that if they have any questions or concerns that I am always here. They also know that I am here even if they just want to chat.  I am a contact Centre Director so families will often see me working in the rooms leading by example and always with a smile. I have a close bond with my team, the children and their families at my service which I believe creates the home like environment that we have at our service.
