Travelling by car We are located on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Berry Street, just one block up from the main intersection in the heart of North Sydney. If you are driving, parallel to the Pacific Highway there is a one way street, Angelo Street, which is accessible from McLaren Street. Angelo Street has metered parking all the way along, and at the bottom on the right hand side there is a parking station. On the ground floor of the parking station to the right (do not drive up the ramp) there are 3 loading zone parking spaces reserved for parents during drop off and pick up times.
Travelling by public transport Walking from the train station you need to walk through to the end of the Greenwood mall and exit via the end escalators. This will bring you out at the large intersection on Miller Street. Cross the road (Flight Centre is on the corner) and walk up the Pacific Highway (on the right hand side) until you reach the first set of lights (passing Billy Blue along the way on your right hand side). We are across the road on the corner and once you enter the building we are just a short lift ride away on level 3.

Parking details

Parking On the ground floor of our building there is a parking station where you can park your car for a full day for a small price. For drop off and pick up times, on the ground floor of the building (not up the parking station ramp) we have 3 car spaces in the loading zone reserved for our parents. If these spaces are full, Angelo Street (the one way street running parallel to the Pacific Highway, that meets Berry Street at the bottom) which is accessible via McLaren Street, has metered parking down the left hand side. This parking is free in the mornings until 8:30am. The last five parking spots on the left hand side have 15 minutes free parking during the times of 8:00am-9:00am in the mornings and then from 3:00pm till 6:00pm in the afternoons.
Goodstart Early Learning Berry Street is an immaculate, 89 place centre in the heart of North Sydney, conveniently located on the corner of the Pacific Hwy and Berry Street. Close to shops, schools, public transport, North Sydney Library and an array of shopping facilities including Greenwood Plaza, our centre is truly as asset to this busy part of Sydney. Our five large classrooms cater for all children aged six weeks to five years, operating between 7:30am and 6:00pm for flexible and beneficial long day care for all families.

Each child’s developmental needs are continuously focused upon, met and extended by our experienced, well trained and dedicated staff members, all who have a passion for educating in an early childhood setting.  Each child is cared for individually and also as part of a whole group, with the centre providing everything you will need for the day including nappies, food, formula, bottles, linen and extra curricular activities all included in our fees.

Our surprisingly large outdoor playground stretches across the large balcony up on the third level of our building, with a smaller sectioned off area for our bubbly bubs. The large sandpit, balancing and climbing equipment, cubby house and pedal bikes assist the children’s exploration of their outdoor surroundings while developing essential physical skills.

Our staff members are highly trained with various levels of qualifications, each holds a current first aid certificate, and continual training is provided on a regular basis to ensure that their skills and knowledge are maintained and extended.

Our programs are planned to develop each child’s individual needs, focusing on many different developmental areas from their creativity to investigating technology and early mathematical learning, while still allowing the children to learn through their own play and imagination. Staff strive toward working closely with parents to assist any developmental milestones and special needs while developing and maintaining trusting relationships with all family members. 

Included into our high quality programs on a regular basis are various incursions in order to assist the children’s learning. Each week we are lucky enough to have dancing and drama with professional performer, Dana, Italian lessons with Daniela for the preschool age group and even a sports program!  The centre also organises special visits from community members, including police officers, fire fighters and dentists, which also ensure that the children are aware of these important role models in our society.

Our catering company delivers fresh, nutritionally balanced food each day to ensure your child is exposed to healthy, delicious foods, and we can even cater to families who require special foods for cultural reasons or due to allergies.

Children are indeed the future, and as a Centre Director, I feel that the education programs, learning resources and dedicated staff members are an essential ingredient in long day care.

I attained my Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies with Honours in Teaching at the University of Newcastle in 2006, and since completing my studies have been working here at Goodstart Early Learning Berry Street. Starting as the group leader of the toddler room, I looked towards the challenge of the Director role when it became available approximately one year later. 

My genuine enthusiasm for education in the early years, and my eagerness to be involved with a diverse network of professionals has made my commitment and experience in the centre much more enjoyable that I could have ever expected. I am a firm advocate for empowering children to have a voice, and I believe that my approach to early childhood education is very much child focused and professional. 

I absolutely love working closely with all of our current families, and look forward to meeting you all in the near future!
