Located within the leafy surrounds of Raleigh Park, our centre offers a peaceful environment with a spacious outdoor area adjacent to our learning rooms. Many of our families and staff members come from within the local area, creating a community feeling.

This sense of community is something that has become very special to the children here. A number of children have siblings at the centre, and those who do not have formed friendships and bonds with children of different ages through the support of the centre staff and their peers. The programs that we offer are based on the children learning and developing through play, having fun and building secure relationships with educators and peers.

Hi, my name is Melissa. I have been working within Goodstart Early Learning since August 2006 as a Centre Director and in July 2010 moved to Goodstart Early Learning Kensington. 

I started my career in childcare in 1998 as an untrained assistant. In 1999 I completed a Diploma of Children’s Services, then went on to complete my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) in 2002. Throughout my time in the profession I have worked with a variety of ages from 6 weeks to 12 years. 

I believe that all children have to right to feel safe and secure at all times. Children should be given the opportunity to learn through play as well as through structured activities. As we live in a multicultural society I believe that it is important for children to learn about multiculturalism/ Diversity and the world around them. 

In addition, I believe that teamwork and communication are an integral part of a centre. At Goodstart Early Learning Kensington we encourage family participation on a daily basis, and through special events such as Parent/ Staff BBQ, Halloween BBQ, Breast Cancer Awareness Afternoon Tea, Christmas Party, Graduation, and many more.
