We would love to welcome you and your family to our wonderful centre. We strive to ensure our centre offers each family a positive child care experience in a friendly and family orientated atmosphere.

Our centre facilities include 3 beautiful playgrounds which offer each of our age groups opportunities to build on their physical skills through age appropriate outdoor experiences.

Our carers and educators pride themselves on the extensive educational programs they provide in each room, which encompass skill enhancement in all developmental areas.

Our centre has commenced implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) throughout our programmed experiences, spontaneous activities and interactions. The Framework encompasses the concepts of Belonging, Being and Becoming. Our centre staff take part in ongoing Staff Professional Training on a regular basis to assist in the implementation of EYLF. This also provides staff with the opportunity to network with other local centres and to share resources.

Through our ongoing commitment to building positive relationships with families, we welcome family members to various centre events throughout the year including Preschool Graduation, our Christmas Concert and parent / grandparent mornings.

Our team of educators believe that ongoing training and learning is important in developing practices within our learning environments. Many of our staff are studying in addition to their full time employment, to further improve their skills and knowledge.
Kim Stuart
Centre Director
My name is Kim Stuart and I have been the Centre Director of Goodstart Early Learning Boronia Fedrick Street since January 2008. I have enjoyed working in the child care industry since 1997 and have worked at Goodstart centres since 2003 in the roles of Centre Director and Group Leader with a variety of age groups.

I am qualified with a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Studies and a Diploma of Child Care and Education. During my Bachelor studies, I was invited to become a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society due to achieving academic excellence. I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Education on a scholarship program to upgrade my qualifications and become a registered teacher by the end of 2011.

My previous experience, qualifications and current studies allow me to provide centre staff with additional support and guidance in programming and planning educational opportunities for each child and implementing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) at the centre. The centre's use of EYLF provides a substantial basis for skill development and preparation for each child's school readiness.

I believe that it is important to encourage staff in the early childhood field to study and train on a regular basis to increase their skills and remain up to date with changing curriculums and educational planning. Ongoing self reflection and changing practices are necessary in each educator's methods and approach as they continue to evolve along their teaching and learning journey.

I believe that children have a natural desire to learn and by providing a child with a friendly, stimulating and educational environment we encourage the child to reach their potential.  It is important that children are encouraged to 'love learning' from an early age and to become a motivated learner for a life time.
