Michael Traill

In addition to his role as Non Executive Vice Chair, Michael is a member of Goodstart's Early Learning and Care Reference Committee. Michael joined Social Ventures Australia as founding CEO in 2002 after 15 years as a co-founder and Executive Director of Macquarie Group's private equity arm, Macquarie Direct Investment. He is also a Director of the Opera Australia Capital Fund and the Documentaries Australia Foundation, and is on the advisory board of MLC Private Equity. |

He is Chief Executive Officer, Mission Australia, the largest national not-for-profit company in Australia's community welfare sector. Toby has previously held senior positions in both the public and private sectors, including banking, branded products, licensed images, documentary production, health and local government. Toby's specialist knowledge areas are strategic management, information technology, and organisational development. |

Greg Hutchinson

Greg is a Senior Advisor and former Partner/Director at consultancy Bain & Company. He has 30 years experience leading major strategic and operational change programs for major global corporations in Asia, Europe and North America. Greg has also dedicated over half his time for the past 10 years to volunteer community roles. Greg became the founding Chief Executive of The Australian Charities Fund in 2000, building workplace giving in private and public sector employers. He transitioned from the CEO role in 2005 and became Deputy Chair. More recently, Greg has been a founding director of the Centre for Social Impact, and a director of ShareGift, which facilitates charitable donations by shareholders. He is also an ambassador and advisor to the Australian Indigenous Education Fund, Australian Scholarships Foundation, Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience, and SVA Consulting, a not-for-profit consultancy dedicated to working with Australian charities and foundations. |

Before moving into the private equity industry, Rob was with the strategy consulting firm Bain & Company during
which time he was based in the United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, and Australia. Rob currently serves on the Board of Hoyts Group and Energy Developments Limited. He also serves on the Corporate Advisory Council of Mission Australia. |

Wendy McCarthy

Wendy has been a teacher, educator and change agent in Australian public life for four decades, and in 2005 she was nominated by the Sydney Morning Herald as one of Australia's Top 100 Public Intellectuals. Currently she is the Chair of Circus Oz, McGrath Estate Agents, headspace Youth Mental Health Foundation and the Pacific Friends of the Global Fund. She is the Executive Director of McCarthy Mentoring, which provides mentors to public and private organisations to assist with issues around diversity, leadership and philanthropy. In 1989 Wendy was appointed an officer of the Order of Australia for outstanding contributions to community affairs, women's affairs and the Bicentennial celebrations. In 1996 the University of South Australia awarded her an honorary doctorate, and in 2003 she was awarded a Centenary of Federation medal for business leadership. Wendy is the author of seven books, including the One2One mentoring guides for mentors and mentees published in 2008. |

Lynne Wannan

Lynne is Director of the Office for the Community Sector, Department of Planning and Community Development, Victoria. She has a background as a policy analyst and manager who has worked as a consultant and community leader, and been an adviser to government at local, state and national levels for almost 25 years. Lynne has worked in state and local government, and in the not-for-profit community sector. Previously, Lynne served as chair of the Victorian Government's Children's Council, Adult Community and Further Education Board, and the Community Support Fund Advisory Council, and has been a Commissioner on the Victorian Skills Commission. Lynne has also held the position of Deputy Chancellor Victoria University of Technology, Convenor of the National Association of Community Based Children's Services, and Chair Community Child Care Victoria, and is currently Deputy Chair Western Chances. She was recognised with an Australia Day award in 2007 for her leadership in community services and education. |

Andrea Staines

Andrea Staines is a professional Non-Executive Director and Company Advisor. She is currently a Director of QR National Ltd, North Queensland Airports Pty Ltd, Allconnex Water and the Brisbane Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. She also advises small and medium-sized companies on implementing board governance, strategic planning and risk management. She is a former CEO of Australian Airlines, a Qantas subsidiary flying between Asia and Australia which she co-launched in 2002. At this time, she was also a member of the Qantas twelve-person Executive Committee.
Prior to Qantas, Andrea worked in various financial roles with American Airlines at their Dallas headquarters. Andrea is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is an occasional MBA Guest Lecturer and CEO Mentor. She has an MBA majoring in Finance from the University of Michigan in the US, and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland. |

Julia Davison

Prior to joining GoodStart as its Chief Executive Officer in February 2011, Julia held numerous senior management roles in the health sector in Australia and the UK. Her career spans 25 years, with highlights including eight years in various roles, including as Assistant Chief Executive, at National Health Services in the UK, and five years as CEO at Flinders Medical Centre, a large teaching hospital in Adelaide. Most recently she held the position of CEO of WorkCover SA. Julia is the Chair of Catherine House, a notforprofit organisation working to solve women's homelessness with sustainable long-term solutions, and is a Director of the Territory Insurance Office, NT. Julia has a strong interest in public policy, and in 1998 she completed a Masters in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School. |
